Kangaroo Motorcaddies

Kangaroo was founded in 1970 by two Polk County residents who saw the need for a powerful self-propelled golf bag carrier to tote the bag, for golfers who prefer the healthy exercise of walking.

The product’s success is due to its patented design for quick dismantling without any tools, to fit compactly in the trunk of a car for transport. Three light-weight components come apart in less than a minute (The heaviest part weighs less than a golf bag -- actually less than the small five inch by seven inch battery that powers the motorcaddie).

Kangaroo is the world’s top brand for quality and durability, and earned International Design magazine’s first-ever award for golf equipment. It’s manufactured in the United States with American-made components of Kangaroo’s proprietary design. The optional remote control CaddieCommand radio steering system is approved by the Federal Communications Commission to operate at 900 megahertz, for reliable performance at 100 yards distance from the golfer.

Kangaroo Motorcaddies welcomes visitors to its Factory Showroom one mile east of Columbus on Highway 108. Tours of the manufacturing plant aren’t offered, but visitors may see all the products at no obligation. A one-acre hilly lawn in front of the plant offers visitors the chance to try out Kangaroo motorcaddies under real-world conditions, simulating the thickest turf and steepest hills to be found on any golf course.
